Vénard (Vern) Chanski is the Principal of VMC Enterprises, LLC, a business advisory firm servicing High Technology, Engineering and Life Science industries. Formerly, he was a Senior Partner and the Director of Business Operations for Hobson Associates, a search firm located in Cheshire, CT.
Vern has earned three Master’s degrees, all focused on Organizational Behavior and Change, with an emphasis on strategic planning and appropriate decision making processes.
After 10 years as the Director of Education for St. Paul’s Church in Glastonbury, CT, he became a principal in an alternative energy firm for 5 years. Then, in 1985 he joined Hobson Associates. During his tenure, he has taken many companies from concept to successful exit. Today, his practice focuses on medical devices and their interplay with biomedical informatics. While Vern endeavors to retrofit existing companies to enable them to achieve their strategic plans, he also partners with investors and their startup companies to bring them into successful maturity. One of these efforts is with Yale University; another, in conjunction with Connecticut Innovations.
Active within his circle of professional groups and social organizations, both as a member and often in a leadership role, Vern also has taught at Worcester Polytechic Insitute, his topic being “ How to Build Your Winning Team.” Currently, he is a very active member of the Southington Middle School Building Committee, helping to manage a $90 million project with the reconstruction of two structures.
