Talcott Mountain Science Center and Academy are pleased to announce the creation of the Johnathan Hamilton Alumni Fund, an annual scholarship that will provide tuition assistance to selected students in kindergarten through eighth grade attending the Talcott Mountain Academy of Science, Mathematics and Technology (TMA).
The Fund was established in memory of Johnathan Hamilton, a TMA alumnus, Class of 2015, who died suddenly in October 2020 at the age of 19. This heartbreaking loss for the family and the community inspired an outpouring of in memoriam contributions. TMA decided to use those contributions to start the fund as a tribute to Johnathan.
“Establishing this Fund seemed like a fitting way to remember and to honor Johnathan’s spirit and kind nature,” said Lydia Gibb, Academy Dean. “While gifts received in Johnathan’s memory serve as the foundation for the Fund, we hope others will be inspired to contribute to maximize the Fund’s impact on students and families in need.”
