FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
Join us as we learn about the night sky, hear some tips and tricks to improve your nighttime photography, and explore the wonders of the Universe!
Your Skygazing adventure begins in the Captain Alan Bean Planetarium, where you'll be immersed in stories about the stars and constellations while you learn about the night sky and current stellar happenings. You'll also hear from professional photographer Bert Sirkin, who will share his work and give you practical ways that you can enhance the images you capture at night.
Afterwards we'll head up to the ridge atop Talcott Mountain to search for planets and stars with a variety of telescopes at our disposal. We also encourage attendees to bring their cameras (and tripods). The near-full moon will be on display, which will be a great target for those who wish to practice their nighttime photography skills and try newly acquired tips and tricks. Bert will be available during the event to provide assistance if needed as well!
Don't miss this out-of-this-world opportunity to view and shoot the night sky and the Farmington Valley!
