FAQ’s – Saturday/Vacation

How do I register?

It’s easy to register online! Check out our event calendar, where you can search by date and grade range. Each event includes a link to our online registration system (Active Network). You can register multiple children at the same time – in fact, if you do so, you can get a sibling discount! Unfortunately we are no longer offering membership discounts. Tuition is due in full upon registration, payable online by credit/debit card or electronic check.

What are the program hours?

Please see the event listing for each program, as the hours might vary. Typically, the day runs from 9am to 3pm.

How do we get there?

Transportation is not provided to Talcott for Saturday or Vacation programs. Students should be brought to campus by car. Drop off/pick up is at the main building (the first building on the left when you come through the gate). Please carpool whenever possible, as we are located at the end of a narrow private road. For directions to our campus, click here.

What should my child bring?

Bring a snack, lunch, and dress for the weather! We do not provide refrigeration, microwaves, or utensils. We have water fountains and water jugs in each building – your child may bring a refillable water bottle (no glass please).

Please make sure all items (lunch boxes, water bottles, backpacks, jackets, etc.) are labeled with your child’s name.

We are not a peanut-free campus, though we do encourage students to keep peanut products to a minimum. During snack and lunch we set up a nut-free table for students with allergies, and may designate others as needed. We have a no-sharing-food policy for all students and staff.

Note about shoes: please no flip-flops. Our campus has variations in elevation and groundcover. Sneakers or other close-toed shoes are encouraged.

For days with inclement weather, please send a rain jacket and/or umbrella. Students often travel between buildings for activities.

My child needs to have medication with them. What should I do?

If your child will be taking or needs any medication during the hours of the vacation program (this includes over-the-counter, inhalers, epi-pens, etc.), please print and fill out the following form:

Medical Authorization Form (to be filled out by your child’s physician)

Medication must be in its original packaging with prescribing information intact. Please put the medication inside a clear ziploc-style bag, labeled clearly with your child’s name, with the medical authorization form inside.

Since students are driven directly to our campus for Saturday and Vacation programs, you may bring the medication on the first day, and hand it directly to a staff member. Do NOT send the medication in your child’s backpack.

What if my child is sick?

Masks are optional on campus. If your child is COVID positive, has a fever of 100°F or greater, is vomiting, or has other illness symptoms: do not send them to the program. Please call us, and we will have our nurse contact you for next steps. We do not give refunds for days missed due to illness.

What is your refund policy?

–More than two weeks prior to start: 100% TMSC credit or 90% refund
–Less than two weeks, but more than 48 hours, prior to start: 50% refund
–Less than 48 hours before start: NO refund
