Welcome to the Talcott Mountain Science Center & Academy, where students in grades K-8 embark on a thrilling journey of discovery and learning! Let us nurture your child’s passion for science, technology, engineering, and math through hands-on learning in one or more of the following programs:

Talcott Mountain Academy — Where K-8 gifted and talented students thrive in a fun, challenging and supportive environment. With a full curriculum, differentiated instruction and passionate teaching staff, students learn to ask questions, find answers, and unlock their full potential.

STEM Programs at Talcott Mountain — Encourage learning year-round with Talcott’s Summer of STEM Adventures, and Saturday & School Vacation programs for students in grades K-8. With hands-on experiments and creative learning inspired by science and our mountaintop campus — Talcott’s carefully crafted programs spark your child’s innate sense of curiosity while fostering teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. The end result? Children realize that learning is fun, and develop a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. Register Now for MARINE SCIENCE! Due to popular demand a new class has been added to our 2024 Summer STEM Adventures. 

July 8 - 12, students in Gr. 3-5 will be submersed into the deep sea. They will learn about geology, watersheds, tides, sea monsters, shells, and even dissect some squid. Includes a day trip to Hammonasset Beach State Park for a visit to Meig’s Point Nature Center, ocean observations, and catch-and-release of some cool creatures!

Don't be shocked when the final spots in Electricity & Circuits fill up! It's your last chance to light up the world during April vacation. Students grades 6-8 will be hands-on learning what electricity is and how electronic components are used. They'll solder electronic parts and assemble an actual working circuit board that they can keep and bring home! Class runs April 9 -11 from 9am-3pm. Registration closes Thursday, April 4.
