Talcott Mountain Science Center for Student Involvement is a regional, non-profit educational and research facility dedicated to increasing students' understanding and appreciation for their physical world. The Center occupies more than twenty acres atop Talcott Mountain in Avon, Connecticut.

Our classes provide instruction for students in Grades K-12 by highly-trained staff. Students visit our unique mountaintop location for laboratory and field work and Science Center staff visit schools for preparation and follow-up activities. Classes are usually designed around one-hour activities, but may be tailored to meet your specific needs, whether they be for large groups, individualized instruction, or independent study.

We now have more to offer than ever before:

With our modern telecommunications facilities, including a television studio, electronic media library and multimedia theater, we are breaking new ground in technology education.

With state-of-the-art computing facilitites, teachers and students are given hands-on access to the latest advancements in information exchange.

Our meteorology lab has been expanded to include Doppler radar, a GOES satellite receiver, and a real-time automated weather station.

The astronomy department features the Captain Alan Bean Hyposhpherium and conducts outdoor observing sessions in our mountaintop observatories.
