Six students from Talcott Mountain Academy (TMA) won awards at the Connecticut Invention Convention on Saturday, April 30, including three who were selected to advance to the National Invention Convention  & Entrepreneurship Expo (NICEE) in Alexandria, Va., May 19-21.

May 5, 2016 -- TMA Student Wins at CT History Day; Qualifies for National Competition in June
Eighth grade student Lillian Steinmayer from Talcott Mountain Academy (TMA) won 2nd place Junior Performance this past weekend at Connecticut History Day. Her finish qualifies her to compete at the National History Day competition in June.

Punching above their weight, middle school students from the science- and math-focused Talcott Mountain Academy of Avon, Conn., won a practice science bowl scrimmage at The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) on April 7, against JAX researchers and other staff with advanced degrees.


February 29, 2016 -- Talcott Mountain Academy Takes First Place in Regional Science Competition
The TMA team comprised of four students in grades 6-8 won first place at the Middle School Regional Science Bowl Competition. The team will move on to the national competition, which will take place in Washington, DC in May.
