On the big island of Hawaii lies a long dormant volcano upon which there stands the world's greatest observatories. In fact, this remote location is probably the best site in the world to observe the wonders of the universe. What makes Mauna Kea unique? This program will explore the geologic origins of the Hawaiian islands, how the islanders view the mountain, and the vast array of telescopes which crown the summit.
