FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! Join us at the Talcott Mountain Science Center to celebrate Earth Day with hands-on activities, demonstrations, discussions and observing of the night sky from the top of Talcott Mountain.

  • Learn about our planet, how our actions impact the environment, and what we can do to protect it for future generations.
  • Participate in fun, hands-on activities for all ages using science and technology to foster a better understanding of our environment.
  • Attend and engage in an environmental-themed discussion with a panel of local experts:
    • Dan Amarante, Fox61 Meteorologist
    • Gerri Griswold, White Memorial Conservation Center and
    • Kirsten Martin, Biologist, University of St. Joseph

To cap off our Earth Day festivities, we'll venture beyond our planet and explore the night sky from our breathtaking location atop Talcott Mountain. With a wide array of telescopes along with digital displays on iPads (provided), we’ll be viewing Mars, Jupiter and other celestial gems.
